Edmund of Woodstock drawing

Edmund of Woodstock was a son of Edward I of England. He eventually rebelled against his brother Edward II. However, Roger Mortimer tricked Edmund into a conspiracy that made people believe Edward II was still alive which warranted his execution. Mortimer found very few volunteers willing to behead a prince, until they found a convict who wanted a pardon.
