The Legend of Korra (TV Series) Season 1 Review

The Legend of Korra poster nickelodeon season 1

Not long ago, I started and finished Avatar: The Last Airbender which is currently out on Netflix. Now it was time to start the sequel series, The Legend of Korra. It was actually because I was watching a bit of the Korra show but I wanted to watch both series.

The Legend of Korra starts almost a lifetime after the end of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Aang had passed away, and he was reincarnated as Korra. She is a very confident woman from the Southern Water Tribe.

She has mastered three elements, with the last being air. She travels to Republic city to be mentored by Tenzin who is Aang’s youngest son. She soon learns of the corruption of Republic City.

While the Airbenders are all good, there are bad people in Republic city who use fire bending, water bending, and Earth bending for evil. Korra learns of Amon, a mysterious man who vows to equalize the world. The dangerous thing about him, is that he can take somebody’s bending away, a power only thought to belong to the Avatar alone.

Overall, I really enjoyed the first season of The Legend of Korra. It does a lot of things better then the first series, such as being more mature in its humor and plot. It’s a little short, so I was a little bummed about that. But I have very little complaints about the show.

Score: B+
