After getting done with the bridge, there’s a big building nearby. On one of the floors there is a whole bunch of historical photos of the mountain’s history. This photo shows why it’s called Grandfather Mountain because of its shape.
The bear is long since dead, but they had a very friendly and famous bear named Mildred.
Part of the movie Forrest Gump was filmed on Grandfather Mountain . This curve is about halfway up.
I think I remember some of Grandfather Mountain from the movie.
