Ken Masters has been one of the most famous fighters in Capcom’s Street Fighter games and now he arrives in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as an echo fighter of Ryu. Since Ken is kind of the original “echo fighter” it makes sense.
Like Ryu, Ken controls pretty similar to the Street Fighter games. Though the input on the moves is much less confusing in Smash Bros.
He’s certainly got more power than Ryu when it comes to most attacks. Like his uppercut punch is way more powerful.
Like Ryu he has two final smash attacks. One is the uppercut with a huge light of flames.
And another is a bunch of kicks which can be better than the first if close to the edge of the stage.
When Kirby takes Ken’s power, he gets to use a hadoken fireball. Like Ryu, it’s an okay attack but not as powerful as I’d like and a bit on the slow side.
While I disliked Ryu in Smash Ultimate, I barely liked playing as Ken. He could be better, but I can say Ryu is worse for sure.
