Captain Planet and the Planeteers (NES) Review

Captain Planet and the Planeteers NES Boxart

I really liked Captain Planet when I was a kid. However I had no clue they made a game about one of my favorite superheroes. After playing it, maybe that was for the best. Because my childhood would have been pretty crappy to get this embarrassment of a game.

The game starts you out in a Gradius-ish gameplay set-up. You control the ship and shoot enemy planes with each different power. Except all the powers suck except fire.

Eventually you’ll get to control Captain Planet himself, and you’ll experience some of the worst free-floating levels you’ll ever play. Captain Planet’s NES game is so bad you might as well throw it away… I mean recycle it. It could be used again for many useful things like a paperweight, make-shift baseball plate, clipboard, or a Frisbee. Well maybe those ideas stink, and some don’t make sense, but they’re all better than actually playing this recycled trash.

Score: 3 out of 10
