
While we generally think chicken eggs can either be white or brown, some chickens produce more colorful eggs similar to colors dyed on eggs for Easter. Three breeds are known to produce eggs (ranging from blue to green colors) like this; the Ameraucana, the Araucana, and the Easter Egger. The Easter Egger is actually any chicken that posses the “blue egg” gene, so they can be considered a less-pure breed.
This is just so cool.
