
The Fairness Doctrine was a U.S. law that required any major news station and journalist to present controversial issues in a manner that was suppose to be honest, balanced, and equitable. The Fairness Doctrine was eliminated in 1987 under President Ronald Reagan.
That’s correct. Repealing it made Fox News possible. The right wing knew what it was doing and Reagan, in this as in many other things, was a willing collaborator.
