Arguably the most infamous American serial killer, The Zodiac Killer was never caught but he almost was. While the Zodiac typically targeted couples in remote locations, the Zodiac shot a man named Paul Stine during a cab-ride. Three witnesses reported seeing a white male to the police, but a dispatcher claimed the suspect was black. Police had talked to a man but let him go since he was white. The Zodiac claimed he was behind the crime with proof of Stine’s shirt and claimed he had talked to police officer who foolishly let him go shortly after the murder.
