Fun facts about Italy

Between the 6th and 19th century, many monarchs had claimed the title of King of Italy, but the first king of a truly united Italy was Victor Emmanuel II who was King of Sardinia before ascending the better throne. Because of this Italians consider him the Father of the Fatherland.
