Last year, my wife and I bought a new house together. This piece of wood under the sliding glass door got hit real bad this winter with some nasty stuff though the white stuff you see is soap. I wanted it cleaned and painted. Took me about five times with different cleaners to get rid of it all.

I used a can of Sherwin Williams Latitude which is a water-based paint in a gloss finish. I was really happy with it. Went on so good with a brush and covered well. I did two coats but I could have done one.

I picked the color Favorite Tan (SW6157) by eyeballing it against the siding. In the photo the actual door came out rather pink than it does in person.
