Shaft is right before the final boss in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. He was the mastermind behind Richter Belmont going “evil.” I’m surprised it took that long for a dark wizard to try something like that against the Belmont clan. Luckily for Richter, Alucard manages to free him from his curse.

He’s got a lot of magical power that’s impressive but I don’t remember him being that difficult.

But he was a decent boss battle.
