Because I’m not a Star Trek nerd, I didn’t have any idea who Wil Wheaton was before watching Big Bang Theory. I did see the movie Stand By Me, which he appeared in as a boy. It was kind of genius for him to join the show, as I’m sure it’s boosted his popularity 100 fold.

The connection between him and the group was actually Stuart Bloom, back when he was actually considered cool. His comic book shop was holding a card game tournament and they found out that Wil Wheaton was competing.

But since he canceled a event Sheldon attended as a child, Dr. Cooper considered him his mortal enemy. Him tricking Sheldon into thinking his grandmother died so he could win the tournament was absolutely hilarious.

Sheldon’s hatred for him was funny but it did get a little old, but by that time, they finally became friends.

    Wil Wheaton was my first crush. Stand By Me has been my favorite movie since it first came out. Love him on Big Bang. I follow his Facebook page. He seems like a solid dude.
