Salmon are considered a keystone species, as if they were to disappear, the ecosystem would change dramatically. Even the rotting corpses of salmon have nutrients that extend farther from water than you might realize.

    This reminds me of the salmon’s final upstream site where they were all dying after mating. It was sad.
