My wife (like many other women) have been watching The Bachelor for many years now. I kind of got interested after watching enough of The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise to be somewhat interested in the whole franchise. But the latest season of The Bachelor is the one that I’ve watched completely from start to finish. Massive spoilers ahead!!!

I vaguely remembered Zach Shallcross from his time on The Bachelorettes. It’s not a super surprising pick for Zach to be the new Bachelor considering his path on the show and good looks.

I saw a meme a long time ago that The Bachelor is mainly watched by women who hate men that date multiple women at the same time while watching a show about a man dating multiple women at the same time. I will say that most of these girls are way too skinny and some you can tell that they’re only pretty because they have the right makeup artist from ABC’s payroll.

I didn’t realize until researching information this season but Davia Bunch was actually Miss South Carolina in 2018. That’s my home state and she made it about halfway through the season. But she never seemed to be one of the favorites either for Zach or the fans of Bachelor Nation.

Being The Bachelor does attract a lot of guys that just basically want to make out with a lot of hot women in skimpy swimsuits. Except Zach seemed to be a lot more moral than that. I think it was him wanting more television time than it was the idea of being The Bachelor himself. I was impressed that he had a moral code for the most part and that he rarely put up with any drama.

Unsurprisingly, these girls really do know how to stir up drama. Honestly, I know they all knew what they signed up for. Ridiculous how some of these girls would have meltdowns on the very first night.

It was until a little after the midway point of the season that I could tell that Zach was having severe conflictions about being The Bachelor. One of the most heartbreaking choices he had to make was breaking up with Charity, whom seemed like the favorite really early on. While it seems The Bachelorette is typically the runner-up of The Bachelor season, she was chosen as the next Bachelorette despite being fourth. But I kind of figured watching the season early on that if she didn’t get the proposal that they were going to pick her for the next Bachelorette.

Zach does pretty well most of the season until the week of fantasy suites. This is the time to be intimate with the women, and he makes the choice to be celibate. But ABC spoiled that he broke his oath. I definitely thought it would be Ariel, but he actually ends up sleeping with Gabi.

So he ends up confessing to Kaity after the fact and not going to bed with her. And he breaks up with Ariel without telling her what went on. If any of the women got done dirty, I would say Ariel got the worst treatment from Zach. Left completely in the dark.

I was really surprised that Gabi was the runner-up. I honestly thought that she wouldn’t make it past night one after forcing Zach to chug maple syrup from Vermont. I was kind of rooting for her up until this breakup scene as they showed a moment where she verbally abused her driver for parking too close to mud. I’m sure that driver had the last laugh, LOL.

So it ends up being Kaity being the actual winner of the show and as far as I know they’re still together. I did have a lot of pity for her because of her father and stepfather leaving her family. But I definitely don’t think she was the prettiest or the one with the most interesting personality.

Funny enough, they both live in Austin, Texas which increases their chances of staying together because they really don’t have to do anything major to change their lifestyles. They really could have met on Bumble or Tinder, LOL. But honestly most of these people on the show don’t need a reality program to find love. Most of them want the publicity or the chance to be a star of either The Bachelor or The Bachelorette. Or worst case scenario, have a very debaucherous summer vacation on Bachelor in Paradise.
