Fun facts about Tudor England and the House of Plantagenet

King Henry VIII had in imprisoned his illegitimate uncle Arthur Plantagenet, when a town in Calais was connected with treason to betray the region to France. Arthur remained in the Tower of London for 2 years until his innocence was ultimately undeniable. When the Tudor King pardoned him, Arthur suffered a heart attack and died. Showing that the king’s mercy was sometimes as fatal as his wrath.
