His ending is more like Mr. Grimm’s in the first Twisted Metal. He wants revenge on Calypso and decides to leave him a little present.

Which causes souls to come out of nowhere and carry Calypso all over the world but it’s definitely implied that Calypso survives the ghoulish ride.
