While in St. Augustine, Florida, I saw this fancy horse and carriage riding around. While I never rode such a ride, I am strangely fascinated every time I see one.
The main reason I picked Florida for a weekend trip was to see the beach. Unfortunately weather and temperature wasn’t ideal.
You can see lots of people relaxing in the sand.
But only a brave few swam or surfed in the water. I put my feet in the water.
But I did enjoy the view and the sound of the Atlantic Ocean.
Old Senator is a 600+ year old tree that has been dubbed the city’s “oldest resident.”
I got to see it along the trolley tour. It actually has another tree growing inside it.
I saw this early on Friday night when I arrived in St. Augustine, Florida. On the trolley tour, we were told this was the original one and that the TV show was filmed here too. It was closed due to COVID-19 however.
On the sight seeing tour, I saw Flagler college a lot. Apparently it was founded by Henry Flagler, who was the right hand man for John Rockefeller of Standard Oil. Apparently he was the 2nd richest man at one time.
I found it funny someone put a face mask on one of the statues outside.
