Most of Senator Bernie Sanders’ heritage comes from Jewish families in Poland and other parts of Europe. He had relatives who perished in the Holocaust one of which was his paternal uncle Romek. Sanders stated becoming interested in politics at an early age, as he realized that Germans had voted for evil men in the 1930’s and because of that it had caused the deaths of many millions of people. After such an conclusion he realized that politics are very important.
