Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine was originally going to have the last name Morrison, being named in honor of Jim Morrison, the late singer of The Doors band. Her final surname is named for Bobby Valentine, who was the manager of the Japanese baseball team Chiba Lotte Marines.

Capcom used American actors while filming the original Resident Evil’s cutscenes in Japan. As such, even the Japanese release has English voice acting, not Japanese.
