Since there many different languages spoken in Switzerland, the official name for the country is Confoederatio Helvetica which is Latin. The name isn’t used often, but rather just for official documents.

Fun Fact: St Bernard Dogs

St. Bernard dogs were named after the Saint Bernard passes which are routes in the alps in Switzerland, France, and Italy. They were bred to be rescue dogs in the area. Before the name was official they were also called saint dogs, barry dogs, and noble steeds.
