I had only noticed Easy A until quite recently. Many people were watching it on Netflix, so the streaming service recommended it to me. I was surprised the movie is 10 years old, especially as I had somehow missed it. I enjoy seeing movies with Emma Stone, so I figured I’d give it a try.

Emma Stone plays a girl named Olivia Pendergast, a highschooler in Southern California. The movie starts with her making a confession via WebCam, and then you get to see what has transpired since then. She has made a lot of mistakes, and you get to see the very beginning.

It starts off rather innocently, she doesn’t want to hang out with a friend because of her strange parents. So she makes up a lie that she was spending intimate time with a new boyfriend who goes to college. Rumors start to spread around the school that Olivia does many bad things with numerous guys.

Instead of denying the rumors, Olivia gets the idea to turn herself into Hester Prynne, the main character of the novel The Scarlet Letter. She wants everybody at the school to think she is just as bad or worse than what people say. Yet ironically, she does none of these things and has never done anything “intimately” with a man.

Overall, Easy A was a pretty cool comedy. There are far better comedies especially ones placed outside of high school, but I definitely enjoyed it. Emma Stone really did well here, and I can see why her career has taken off so well since 2010.
Donno it but I loved her in Zombieland <3
