Fun Fact: The Blind King Who Died in Battle

Fun facts about the hundred years war

During the Battle of Crecy (the Hundred Years War), King John of Bohemia allied with Phillip VI of France against Edward III of England. King John was blind and had been for about a decade. He demanded to be part of the battle and apparently had his horse tied to other horses under his ranks. The battle was a huge English victory, with Phillip VI wounded and King John of Bohemia dead as a doorknob.
