Before his severe legal trouble in recent memory and his time serving as campaign chairman for Donald Trump, Paul Manafort had advised and lobbied for many on the right wing. He advised Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and Bob Dole. He also helped the disgraced (and pro-Russian) Ukrianian President Viktor Yanukovych. Even more controversial were him lobbying for dictators such as the Philippines’ Ferdinand Marcos and Mobutu Sese Seko of the Congo.
