The founder of the American Girl Scouts was Juliette Gordon Low. She had been a supporter of the early Scouting movement and went to Scotland and helped a group known as the Girl Guides. When she returned to America, she quickly founded The Girl Scouts of the USA. She remained active in the group until her death in 1927.
