Fun Fact: Greek Civil War

Fun facts about Greece

During the last half of the 1940’s, the Greek Civil War tore the nation apart from supporters of the status quo Kingdom of Greece and those who wanted to establish communism. Kingdom of Greece had support from the United Kingdom and the United States, but the Greek communists had no support from the Soviet Union as Stalin agreed not to help them due to a previous pact with Winston Churchill. While the communists did have support from Yugoslavia, Albania, and Bulgaria, they ended up losing the war.
