A blizzard had struck New York City during Teddy’s lifetime. He had made a promise to meet a librarian, and walked 50 city blocks to make the meeting. He arrived, and found out that there was nobody, so he walked back home. He later wrote to the woman and acknowledged that the blizzard must of kept her home.
