While dogs belong to the biological order of Carnivora (which includes all canines, cats, bears, weasels, and others) despite the name they are not exclusively carnivores like wolves and cats. They can have a wide-range diet which often includes meat/animal-derived food but they also can healthily digest large amounts of vegetables and grains.
