Remembering watching this in high school for our history class. I think our teacher just needed an excuse to show the movie.

Mel Gibson plays a great role as Benjamin Martin, a revolutionary war hero who is cunning in war, and a loving father at home.

I think the best role goes to Jason Issacs as Colonel William Tavington. He is one of the most evil antagonists and just plain brutal villains in movie history.

It’s not exactly an educational film, but hey it’s a good movie set during the War of Indepence and that’s all that counts.
