Joseph Smith Jr. never had a good relationship with the criminal justice system even as a young man. When he was 21 he went to trial after he told a man that he could find hidden treasure with a magical rock. He founded The Church of Latter-Day Saints (Mormonism) less than a decade later.
A magic rock, eh? My neighbor, very sweet lady most of the time, brought me their Mormon bible. I tried to keep an open mind, but I just couldn’t get very far into it before wtf’ing it closed and tossed it into the Goodwill pile.
