The Green Army was a faction during the Russian Civil War that fought against the White Army (anti-communists) and the Red Army (communists) before the conflict was over. Small in number, it was mostly made of rural peasants. Lacking resources and even a real goal, they were eventually crushed by the new Bolshevik regime. But they did prove to be a unexpected headache for Communist forces.
