Humans keeping bees for their honey goes back about ten thousand years and it didn’t take too long to spread across the world. However it took until the 18th century when Europeans figured out how to make a movable comb so that honey could be harvested without killing the colony.
I’m glad they figured that out since my mother loves to add honey to her coffee.
Honey was the only sweetener in the world until Europeans discovered how to process sugar from sugar cane/beets in Tudor times.
