The Lykov family were a Russian family that were “Old Believers” which is a religious domination that separated from the Russian Orthodox Church in 1666. In the 1930’s, the family was fearful of being killed by the new Communist government and fled east. They had moved to a very remote part of Siberia and spent many decades completely isolated form society. The only survivor was a daughter named Agafia who was the last remaining member of the family since her father died in 1988.
