Fun facts about Pat Sajak

In 1989, Pat Sajak partly left Wheel of Fortune in favor of hosting his own late night talk show. CBS knew Johnny Carson would be retiring soon, and Pat Sajak had potential to draw in fans rather than Carson’s own eventual successor at NBC. The show lasted until 1990, with CBS unhappy with the ratings.
