Veronica Mars started on UPN when it was still a network and remained on the air after the merger with WB to become The CW. After the television show was canceled, it took about a decade for a movie.

Since almost a decade had passed, the lives of many of the characters have changed. The most of which was Veronica Mars. After her horrific year at Hearst College, Veronica eventually moved away from Neptune, California. Leaving the life of being a PI behind, she decides to become a lawyer. She currently lives in New York City and is about to join a prestigious team in a law firm known as Truman-Mann and even they heard of her legend of solving crimes in her old home-town. She’s played it by the book for almost a decade. But things change when she sees that her old classmate Carrie Bishop was murdered. Veronica never had much love for Carrie, but the one accused of the crime is what brings her back.

The accused is Logan Echolls, Veronica’s old boyfriend. He had dated Carrie Bishop though most of the world knew her as Bonnie DeVille as she grew up to be a pop-star. All the signs point to Logan, but Veronica knows deep down that he didn’t do it. She travels back to Neptune originally to help Logan find an amazing lawyer. But old habits are hard to break and Veronica can’t resist the smell of clues. Even if Veronica is able to make Logan Echolls a free man again, will she be able to go back to a “normal” life in New York City? Or will the dark side of Neptune, California be far too much for her to resist?

The Veronica Mars movie is about what I had suspected. It was nice to see most of the cast return in some way, shape, or form. The new story feels a little deja vu, but there was a few shockers in there. I didn’t like how they made up class-mates that didn’t actually exist in the television series as it made the story feel a little artificial.
