Fun Fact: The Jewish Princess of Liechtenstein

Fun facts about Liechtenstein

While she did convert to Christianity, Elisabeth von Gutmann was the wife of the Prince of Lichtenstein starting in the year 1929. Since Liechtenstein was a German-speaking country, far right activists paid well attention to the Nazi party in Germany and referred to her as the country’s “Jewish problem.” Luckily Liechtenstein stayed politically stable and sided with Switzerland and remained politically neutral during World War II.
