In the 1930s, Gua was a baby chimp raised as if it was a human, as a scientific experiment. They raised it alongside a human baby so they could compare development. The experiments ended up being a complete failure.

    I just looked up the story of Gua. It’s sad that she died soon after the Kelloggs left her at the primate center. That sounded rather cruel to be using her for this kind of study and then kind of just getting rid of her.
