Things I Like: Darth Maul (Star Wars Prequel Trilogy)

Darth Maul Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace

The first Sith apprentice we see in the prequel trilogy, Darth Maul was definitely a good one. But we rarely ever saw him talk.

As Senator Palpatine’s apprentice, he works for Darth Sidious as his assassin to advance the plans he has with the Trade Confederation. Ironically George Lucas later made it known that Palpatine’s master was still alive at the time. And going by the Sith Rule of Two, Darth Maul wasn’t really a Sith apprentice at all, it was Palpatine.

Most fans forgot this, but Anakin Skywalker almost got run over. Darth Maul was this close from saving the galaxy in the long-term.

I always thought it was funny that he was about on par with Qui-Gon Jinn during their first battle.

But later fought both him and Obi-Wan Kenobi simultaneously, even though he had the double bladed lightsaber.

Despite the death of Qui-Gon Jinn, it definitely was one of the better lightsaber battles in the whole Star Wars series.

They bring him back after the prequel trilogy, but honestly he was chopped in half and fell down a huge drop. How do you honestly recover from that?
