Famous musicians usually do not get paid for performances during the Super Bowl halftime show. While the NFL does cover production and travel costs, the main entertainer is not paid directly, even a single cent. Though on the positive side, whatever artist is performing that year usually sees a large uptick in their record sales.

    Uptick in record sales, endorsements, magazine covers…. it’s definitely profitable for them to perform, even for “free” during the halftime show.
