Miles Morales went from a obscure superhero to a fan favorite with just one movie. I enjoyed the first film but not as much as other people. I was tempted to watch it in theaters but missed out on it, so I got to check it out when it dropped on Netflix a while back. I will warn you now that I will be spoiling stuff.

It’s a little unclear how much time has passed since the last film, but Miles Morales is pretty much doing the same thing he’s always done. But he is missing Gwen Stacy and his other friends.

I will say that I don’t find him to be even close to my favorite spider-person. He’s just too much of a damn whiner.

I found the struggles of Miles Morales personal life to be a tad boring but Gwen Stacy has a very exciting plot of becoming part of a spider-team that’s meant to fix issues in the Multiverse.

Which is led by Miguel O’Hara, better known by fans as Spider-Man 2099. I heard people call him the villain of this movie, but honestly he’s not really.

It’s Miles Morales. He caused all the troubles in the Multiverse for the most part and when he’s told that saving his dad would destroy and kill millions of people, he doesn’t care. Good and evil are just a case of perspective, I suppose.

I will also say that I didn’t really enjoy the countless other spider people as much of the first film. A bit too much quantity versus quality.

While I did like the film, I did find it very disappointing. When it gets really exciting, it cuts off and they tease the next movie which makes this really just half a movie. I will say that twist at the very end was pretty interesting and I hope we don’t have to wait another five years to see it.
