Darth Vader could easily be described as the best villain in all fiction. I remember he used to scare the absolute crap out of me when I was a kid.

I kind of knew that he was Luke’s dad before I ever watched Star Wars, so I never had the original perception of the character in my mind. As he supposed to be the man who betrayed all the Jedi and murdered Anakin Skywalker.

Which would explain how evil he actually is.

His first fight with Luke was one of the best things the series had ever produced.

And the “LOL I’m your daddy line” is one that will never be forgotten in cinematic history.

He’s not the greatest dad, even after admitting his parentage. He wants his son to rule the Empire with him but doesn’t mind Luke basically being a pawn for Emperor Palpatine.

Luke beating him on the new Death Star is one of the series’ most satisfying moments.

Especially considering how many characters were retconned to have lost against Darth Vader in a lightsaber fight.

But seeing his son potentially dying caused him to kill Emperor Palpatine for which his body and machinery starts to fail. But he dies a hero, which was probably very awkward for all the Jedi in Force Heaven because I know none of them thought he was getting inside, LOL.
