Apollo Creed was one of the best characters in the Rocky franchise. Serving as the original antagonist of the first movie.

His first fight with Rocky was pretty darn good. But I was never a fan of the whole neither of them was knocked out situation. For which the judges give Apollo the win, due to a point system or something.

But many in the boxing world criticized the decision, so Apollo is forced by pride to have a re-match with the Italian Stallion and Apollo loses.

I forgot how much Clubber Lang disrespected him when he showed up to help announce the fight in Rocky III.

But he becomes good friends with Rocky after that and was the one training him for the rematch.

He tries returning to boxing (big time) when Ivan Drago from the Soviet Union shows up in America.

It’s hard to gauge how much Apollo lost in skill and strength since his prime, but he was absolutely slaughtered by Ivan Drago.

And due to his stubbornness, Rocky did not throw in the towel for him and the Soviet boxer kills him. Which is a sad death but definitely motivated Rocky to take down the Russian menace.
