Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is the latest film based on the classic nerd game from the 1980s. I had never seen the previous entries, but my wife saw this on Paramount+ and we decided to watch it together.

Chris Pine plays Edgin Darvis who has a long and complicated backstory. But long story short, he took up that dangerous job and his wife died because of it. Michelle Rodriguez plays Holga, who isn’t his romantic interest but she’s like a second mom to his daughter and they work surprisingly well together.

But their lives get ruined when some bald-headed red wizard lady decides to trap them in a scheme that lands them in prison and her in power.

But they break out of their fairly harsh prison and find their old buddies to form a team to right the wrongs.

They also make some new friends too, my wife called this fellow the Guy from Bridgerton.

Hugh Grant plays Forge Fitzwilliam pretty well, I will say without spoiling his story.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves it’s not the greatest fantasy film ever made but is a fun little movie. I have never played Dungeons & Dragons so I can’t say how well it really holds up to the source material but the movie did fairly decent, so we’ll probably see a sequel in the future.
