Harlod Gray, author of Little Orphan Annie was a staunch conservative in the political Spectrum. When he tried to use political views to influence kids, he got in trouble with his publisher as it was considered way too serious for the Funny Pages. He also killed off the character Daddy Warbucks temporarily to protest FDR.
