Eddie Murphy was one of the biggest stars of the 1990s decade and found major success with The Nutty Professor. The movie did so well that the studio definitely wanted a sequel—and I doubt Eddie Murphy had many objections to cashing that check.

This one definitely got wackier and sillier than the original. Sherman Klump is back, not exactly in peak health, and he’s clearly dealing with a lot of PTSD.

And Buddy Love somehow finds a way to separate from Sherman and embarks on his own little path to craziness.

I definitely didn’t notice it 25 years ago (probably because I didn’t care), but the new girlfriend in the movie is played by Janet Jackson. Just a few years later, her career took a major hit after the infamous Super Bowl halftime show controversy.

Honestly, the most memorable part of this movie for me was the over-the-top “dancing entertainment” for the ladies—LOL.

Overall, this sequel was definitely inferior to the original, but I remember liking it back in the day. That being said, I don’t know if I’ll ever watch it again… but hey, you never know.
