Lando Calrissian is probably the last character from the original Star Wars trilogy to appear in the sequels, as he doesn’t make an in-person appearance until The Rise of Skywalker. It was great to see Billy Dee Williams return to his iconic role—this time as a much older man than he was during Return of the Jedi.

I can’t remember all the backstory, but I believe his daughter was captured by the First Order. That was used to explain why he wasn’t helping Princess Leia directly. He had been living in disguise on some remote planet.

Apparently, he also had the clues that led the team to the Sith dagger—or whatever it was.

Then, during the final space battle where the Resistance was being overwhelmed by countless First Order ships, Lando suddenly shows up out of nowhere with a makeshift fleet—basically anyone he could find who had a ship capable of fighting. Pretty epic move.

And with Han Solo dead, he finally got his beloved ship, the Millennium Falcon, back—LOL. Once again, Lando played a pivotal role in helping defeat the bad guys.
