The main reason we took our little mini-vacation to Atlanta, Georgia, when we did was because my wife is a huge fan of the musician Yungblud. I had actually heard one of his songs on the radio before knowing who he was, but I’m not a big fan of the rock genre compared to her. She bought her tickets early, and I’ve never seen her put so much effort into something. She made little gifts for other fans, hundreds of them to hand out to the crowd. When Saturday came, we headed to Synovus Bank Amphitheater, where they were holding the concert.

First of all, the security at Synovus Bank Amphitheater was absolutely ridiculous. They wouldn’t allow the paper hearts that Yungblud had encouraged people to make and pass out in the crowd, and my wife had quite a large number of them. The security lady somehow thought they were a risk, so I had to call over her supervisor, who quickly realized they were just paper. The amphitheater is completely outdoors, which wasn’t as bad as I expected. For June, it really wasn’t that hot, and the weather stayed nice. There were plenty of lines for the bathrooms and refreshments, but the show seemed to be about 99% sold out, so that made sense.

The opening act was The Warning, which is a Mexican rock band made up of three sisters. Those hermanas definitely knew how to rock. I’d also say the crowd was really darn cool. Almost everybody was super happy and nice, and in a genuine way, not like a fake Southern Baptist church kind of way.

As for Yungblud himself, he’s a really good entertainer. He has a much smaller fan base than many other artists, but the people who do like him are incredibly passionate, like my wife. He was actually picked by Ozzy Osbourne to be his protégé before he died, and I can definitely see why. I think if he had better songs, his popularity would skyrocket, but he’s still fairly young, so we’ll see what happens over the next few years.

I just came to say the security we had on our side were wonderful. They even got us in a shorter line. I had my granddaughter with me and it was her first concert and they made sure we knew there was a spot for first time concert goers to get a certificate. They even came over several times and checked on her. I thought they went over and beyond helping and being friendly. I even witnessed them bringing a fan water that had gotten over heated and checking in her many times. We had a blast.
I’ve only heard one or two of his songs, but I’ve seen him online here and there. He seems to be a genuinely nice human that really appreciates his fans. I am glad you all had a great time at the event.
Sounds like fun to me. I’ve been surprised at how much I like Youngblud.
