The character Duo was specifically made for Mega Man 8 but strangely appeared first in the 1996 arcade game Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters.

Fun Fact: X-Men vs. Street Fighter’s Re-Release Problems
Like all of its other sister games before Marvel vs. Capcom 3 had the similar problem, X-Men vs. Street Fighter never saw a single re-release after its original run. As the rights to the game were lost to Capcom temporarily because of Marvel selling the rights to certain characters to different movie studios.

Like other games in the series, Capcom took fan submissions to make their robot master bosses off of. They received about 110,000 fan ideas.
Fun Fact: Mega Man 8’s Sega Saturn Exclusive Bosses
There were two extra bosses in the Sega Saturn version of Mega Man 8. Which were Cutman and Woodman, who appeared in the first two games of the series.
Fun Fact: Mega Man 8’s Lesser Known Sequel
Mega Man 8 actually got a sequel in Japan called Mega Man & Bass which was technically released for the Super Famicom (SNES). It re-used a lot of the content from Mega Man 8. The game was eventually released in America for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance.
