Things I Like: Bowser (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

This King of Koopas has been in the series since Melee, but Ultimate was the first time I really liked playing as Bowser. He hasn’t drastically changed since the previous games. He’s by far the heaviest fighter which makes him difficult to knock off the stage. And he’s got great power to him. Not manyContinue reading “Things I Like: Bowser (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Yoshi’s Island Melee Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

This Melee stage is back though it’s never left the series since the Gamecube era. It’s based on a stage in Super Mario World set on Yoshi’s Island, but not based on Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island obviously. While far from my favorite stage, I’ve liked it. The biggest thing to be careful ofContinue reading “Things I Like: Yoshi’s Island Melee Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Fire Bar (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

It’s from the Mario series, but instead of a “sword” item shape, it’s an obstacle moving in a circular motion, often in Bowser’s castles. Though it is far from my favorite item in the game. Despite the flashy look, theContinue reading “Things I Like: Fire Bar (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Hammer (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

You move really fast and while you’re very sluggish, after a few hits, your opponents are gone. It can lose its head and you could be stuck movingContinue reading “Things I Like: Hammer (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”

Things I Like: Yoshi’s Story Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)

Another Melee stage to make a final return in Ultimate, this one is based on the Yoshi’s Story game on N64, but very vaguely. It’s more just a clone of the small battlefield stage set up. Which is quite familiar, so you’d know what to expect for most of the stage. The only real differencesContinue reading “Things I Like: Yoshi’s Story Stage (Super Smash Bros. Ultimate)”
