In 1936, a man named Joe Arridy was convicted for the rape and murder of a girl. The police got him to make a false confession, despite being severely mentally challenged. Another man confessed and was convicted for the same murder, but yet the state of Colorado still executed Arridy. The prison warden tried to save his life, and said Arridy had no real idea when he was executed what it meant.
