Prince Zuko surprisingly grows on you. At the start of the series, he is the exiled crown prince of the Fire Nation.

His father, Fire Lord Ozai tells him he can come back home with honor if he captures the new Avatar. Which makes him the villain of season one for the most part.

But surprisingly, he actually saves Aang now and then. Showing that he has good inside him.

Like his uncle, I was deeply disappointed when he went to the darkness instead of the light due to sister promising him falsehoods.

But like anyone with good inside him or her, he does the right thing though it took him forever. So he joins the heroes and defies his own father.

I would’ve never expected him to be the teacher to Aang when it came to fire bending. At least when I was watching season one anyway. Talk about awkward.

During the finale, he fights his sister Azula in a pretty cool battle.

Azula, sensing she was losing, manages to defeat Zuko by attempting to attack Katara. I was very proud of him for shielding her from death. He survives, while Katara technically defeats Azula.

He becomes the new fire lord after the overthrow of his father. Who would’ve guessed that this would’ve been a really nice ending?

I just started the Legend of Korra, and I hear both of them started a new city that united all the lands.
